Housing

Rapid changes to the built environment produce, mask and reveal huge housing inequalities. This ongoing series of prints tries to draw attention to these injustices and the underlying systems which fuel them.

In London in particular, impoverished and neglected buildings can be pressed up against the architecture of spectacle and viewed in the same frame, rather as if looking at radical collage. I work with this phenomenon through juxtaposing contrasting imagery, extending its potential through using multiple visual languages, creating imaginary space and problematising viewing positions.
